Feed My Sheep

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep”

Feed my lambs/babies

Tend my sheep - watch over, care for and protect my sheep

Feed my sheep- feed them what I have prepared for them and poured into you .....

Feed them the tenderized, palatable, nutritious meal that I specially prepared for them.

Not everyone is prepared to feed His sheep.

What is the food that God gives shepherds to feed His flock?

The food that nourishes both the young and old, has no expiration date, transcends cultures, continents, socioeconomic status, and fills the belly of everyone who sits at the table. This food was prepared by the master top chef and was specifically made for the sheep of God.

The Shepard who has been called to feed the flock of God must be well studied(know the menu),humble(a server), and resilient (sheep get angry when they don’t get the meal they expect, or if it takes to long to cook). They must be confident in the Master chef that He is preparing the meal that each sheep needs when they need it.

Good Shepard’s (not the Good Shepard) don’t have to know how to cook but know how to be a good servant.

God often calls vessels who were broken, beaten and pressed. A Shepherd that resembles Peter is often a Shepard that God calls...... Peter is a man that God used to demonstrate His magnificent power. Through the life of peter we saw the impossible become possible. Not only did peter have a first hand account of the miracles performed by Christ, he walked on water, was overzealous, rebuked by God, denied Jesus, and was forgiven.

That’s who Christ asked to feed His sheep. Someone who knows God because of personal experiences. He knows His power, may have stumbled, but in spite of His frailty he was reestablished and redeemed by God

A Shepard chosen by God is someone after God’s heart. They are humble(this usually comes from the breaking, beating and the pressing), obedient, and points people to the perfect love of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for saying yes to feeding the lambs, tending the sheep and feeding the sheep of God.
